Description The Village of Goodrich seeks a fulltime field working Superintendent of Public Works. A copy of the job description for this position is posted on the Village website at www.villageofgoodrich.com. This position is responsible to plan and supervise the activities and personnel of the Public Works Department, storm sewer collection system, streets, parks, motor vehicle pool, and implementation of capital improvements and general maintenance of public buildings. Preform complex supervisory, administrative duties which include budget preparation, department purchasing and professional work in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the department. Reports to the Village Administrator. Minimum qualifications include five (5) years progressively responsible experience in public works or related field; a valid State of Michigan CDL-B with air brakes driver’s license; ability to lift 50 pounds; prior employment, applicant must pass village-designated physical examination including drug screening.

Description The Village of Goodrich is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administrator to fill the full-time position of Village Administrator/Clerk. The position reports directly to the Village Council and is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Village Office and maintaining a commitment to delivering high quality services to our residents. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as strong organizational, leadership and training skills. Must also possess a comprehensive knowledge of municipal legislative processes, knowledge of laws related to Open Meetings Act, open records and record retention, Freedom of Information Act, ability to utilize technology to receive and create word processing documents, spreadsheets, databases, update various portions of the Village’s websites relative to posting meeting agendas and minutes, notarize documents, and the ability to interpret the State Constitution and Statutes, Village Ordinances and the Village Charter. The successful candidate will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to attending and preparing minutes for all meetings of Village Council, Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Commission and committees of the Council. Development and overseeing of the Village’s budgets, conducting the annual update of the Village’s Codified Ordinances, future assistance with maintaining the Village’s presence on social media sites, compiling and analyzing organizational performance data, act as the Zoning Administrator and other projects as assigned by the Village Council. Works at the will of the Council. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in political science, public administration or another closely related field or a master’s degree or equivalent years of experience as a Municipal Manager or Administrator preferred. Five (5) or more years of progressively more responsible municipal management experience preferred.
