Doggies to say ‘I do’ as part of Humane Society Valentine’s event
BURTON — The Humane Society of Genesee County will hold a doggie wedding Feb. 18 in honor of Valentine's Day.
“Two of the dogs here are getting married. Jake has a tux and Lacy has a wedding dress and they are very excited,” said Tara Sturgis, community relations coordinator for the Humane Society.
A reception with cake and free pictures will be available for attendees.
“You are more than welcome to bring your dog,” said Sturgis.
Dogs attending are welcome to dress up and there will be free treats given out for the doggie guests.
As of now, the Humane Society houses about 200 animals in need of adoption. Adoption costs range from $75 to $400.
“We will be having specials for adoption,” said Sturgis.
The doggie wedding will take place
Feb. 18 from 1-4 p.m.
"We are excited about it,” said Lynn Holmes, a volunteer for the Humane Society. “We think it will be great fun."
